What is the MLK Day of Service?
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'"
Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on the King Holiday to serve their neighbors and communities.
We are asking our community to join us in the Gilroy Demonstration Garden to do some pre-spring cleaning, removing weeds, clearing out beds, compost making, and all around garden chores!
We are holding a day of service in our very own Gilroy Demonstration Garden.
When: Monday January 17, 2011
Time: 10am-3pm check in starts at 9:30am
Where: Gilroy Demonstration Garden, Eigleberry Street, between 6th and 7th, downtown Gilroy
Why: Day of Service and Clean-up for our community Demonstration Garden
What: Garden Chores, Clean-up, Compost, and more, bring gloves and tools if you have them, we do have some tools and gloves to use.
Meet your neighbors down at the garden.
Learn what is going on and growing in our downtown garden.
See you there!
Lunch Provided, please rsvp to give us an idea of how much to bring.
We hope you can join us on this day of community service,
Sincerely,
Judy Hess
